Uddhamāghātanikāti āghātanaṃ vuccati maraṇaṃ, uddhamāghātanā attānaṃ vadantīti uddhamāghātanikā. Saññīti pavatto vādo, saññīvādo, so etesaṃ atthīti saññīvādā.
'Post-mortemists': *āghātana* refers to death; they assert a self after death, thus they are 'post-mortemists'. The assertion proceeding as 'conscious' is the 'assertion of a conscious self'; because they hold this, they are 'proponents of a conscious self'.
