'For such a state': for this state, that is, for the state of fully endowed five aggregates, is the meaning. 'While still young': while still weak and an infant. 'Would it be cut off': would it be terminated? 'Growth, increase, and expansion': if consciousness were cut off, would the bare name-and-form alone arise and undergo growth by way of the first stage of life, increase by way of the middle stage of life, and expansion by way of the last stage of life? Or would it undergo growth, increase, and expansion by attaining ten years, twenty years, a hundred years, a thousand years?—this is the meaning.
