In the words ‘impermanent’ and so forth, they are impermanent because they cease after having come to be. They are conditioned because they are made by coming together and arriving together through various causes. They are dependently arisen because they have arisen properly and solely through causes depending on respective conditions. ‘Destruction’ and so forth are all synonyms for dissolution. For whatever dissolves is destroyed, passes away, fades away, and ceases; therefore it is said: ‘subject to destruction,’ and so on.
