Tasmā sabbepi te rājāno attano attano rajjasirivibhavānurūpaṃ pābhataṃ gahetvā taṃ rājānaṃ upagamma onatasirā attano moḷimaṇippabhābhisekena tassa pādapūjaṃ karontā – ‘‘ehi kho, mahārājā’’tiādīhi vacanehi tassa kiṃkārapaṭisāvitaṃ āpajjanti. Mahāsudassanassāpi tatheva akaṃsu. Tena vuttaṃ – ‘‘ye kho, panānanda, puratthimāya disāya…pe… anusāsa, mahārājā’’ti.

Therefore, all those kings, taking gifts corresponding to their own royal majesty and wealth, approach that king, and bowing their heads, paying homage to his feet with the coronation-like radiance of the crest-gems of their diadems, they enter into his servitude with words such as, "Come, great king!" They did just so for Mahāsudassana as well. Therefore it was said: "Those, Ānanda, in the eastern direction… and so forth… 'Instruct us, great king.'"
