Yathābhucceti yathābhūte yathāsabhāve. Vaṇṇeti guṇe. Payirudāhāsīti kathesi. Bahujanahitāya paṭipannoti kathaṃ paṭipanno? Dīpaṅkarapādamūle aṭṭha dhamme samodhānetvā buddhatthāya abhinīharamānopi bahujanahitāya paṭipanno nāma hoti.
"In accordance with truth" (yathābhucca) means in accordance with what is real, in accordance with actual nature. "In praise" (vaṇṇa) means in terms of qualities. "Uttered" (payirudāhāsi) means spoke. "Practicing for the welfare of the many" (bahujanahitāya paṭipanno): how is he practicing? Even when combining the eight qualities at the feet of Dīpaṅkara and making the aspiration for Buddhahood, he is truly "practicing for the welfare of the many."
