“Joy arises” means that an aspect of gladness arises. “In one who is joyful, rapture arises” means that in one who is glad, rapture arises, thrilling the entire body. “For one whose mind is rapturous, the body becomes tranquil” means that for a person whose mind is accompanied by rapture, the mental body becomes tranquil; its distress is gone. “He experiences happiness” means that he experiences both bodily and mental happiness. “The mind is concentrated” means that for one made happy by this happiness of renunciation, the mind is concentrated both by way of access and by way of absorption.
