While that circle of noble ones was sitting thus, the disk of the full moon—freed from the obscurations of clouds, mist, smoke, dust, and Rāhu; appearing like a great silver mirror held up in the eastern direction to display the loveliness of the world adorned by the arising of a Buddha; radiant as a silver wheel being turned by grasping the rim—rose up beyond the enclosure of Mount Yugandhara in the east and entered the path of the wind. Thus, at such a moment, instant, and fraction of an hour, the Blessed One was dwelling among the Sakyans at Kapilavatthu in the Great Forest together with a great Saṅgha of monks, with about five hundred monks, all of them arahants.
