Evarūpaṃ domanassaṃ na sevitabbanti evarūpaṃ gehasitadomanassaṃ na sevitabbaṃ. Gehasitadomanassaṃ nāma – ‘‘tattha katamāni cha gehasitāni domanassāni? 'Such displeasure is not to be cultivated' means that such household-based displeasure is not to be cultivated. As for household-based displeasure: 'There, what are the six kinds of household-based displeasure? When one does not acquire, or regards as non-acquisition, visible forms cognizable by the eye that are desirable, charming, agreeable, delightful, and connected with worldly gain, or when one recollects what was formerly not acquired in the past, ceased, and changed, displeasure arises. Whatever displeasure is of such a kind is called household-based displeasure.' Thus displeasure based on the strands of sensual pleasure arises for one who reflects, 'I have not experienced, I will not experience, I am not experiencing a desirable object at the six [sense] doors.'
