Pañjarasmiṃ gahetvāna, silāya uparī kato;
Kāmaṃ khādatu maṃ byaggho, aṭṭhiyā ca nhārussa ca;
Kilese khepayissāmi, phusissāmi vimuttiya’’nti.

Seized in its cage-like jaws, / laid atop a rock; / let the tiger devour me at will, / both the bone and the sinew; / I will destroy the defilements, / I will touch liberation.”
