Anupahaccāti avināsetvā. Āmato hotīti addhamato marituṃ āraddho hoti. Odhunāthāti orato karotha. Sandhunāthāti parato karotha. Niddhunāthāti aparāparaṃ karotha. Tañcāyatanaṃ na paṭisaṃvedetīti tena cakkhunā taṃ rūpāyatanaṃ na vibhāveti. Esa nayo sabbattha.

"Without injuring": without destroying. "Is half-dead": has begun to die, being half-dead. "Shake down": move it to this side. "Shake out": move it to that side. "Shake off": move it this way and that. "And he does not experience that base": through that eye he does not discern that visible-form base. This is the method everywhere.
