Yāvatikā yānassa bhūmīti yattakaṃ sakkā hoti yānena gantuṃ, ayaṃ yānassa bhūmi nāma. Yānā paccorohitvāti ayānabhūmiṃ, dvārakoṭṭhakasamīpaṃ gantvā yānato paṭiorohitvā.

‘As far as the ground went for a vehicle’ (yāvatikā yānassa bhūmi) means as far as it is possible to go by vehicle; this is called the ground for a vehicle. ‘Having alighted from the vehicle’ (yānā paccorohitvā) means having reached the ground unsuitable for a vehicle, near the gatehouse, having alighted from the vehicle.
