Sattāvāsāti sattānaṃ āvāsā, vasanaṭṭhānānīti attho. Tattha suddhāvāsāpi sattāvāsova, asabbakālikattā pana na gahitā. Suddhāvāsā hi buddhānaṃ khandhāvārasadisā. Asaṅkhyeyyakappe buddhesu anibbattantesu taṃ ṭhānaṃ suññaṃ hotīti asabbakālikattā na gahitā. Sesamettha yaṃ vattabbaṃ, taṃ heṭṭhā vuttameva.
'Abodes of beings' means the dwellings of beings, that is, places of residence. There, the Pure Abodes are also abodes of beings, but they are not included because they are not permanent. For the Pure Abodes are like the military encampments of the Buddhas. In incalculable eons when Buddhas do not arise, that place is empty; thus, being not of all times, they are not included. What remains to be said here has already been stated below.
