Atithi no te hontīti te amhākaṃ āgantukā, navakā pāhunakā hontīti attho. Pariyāpuṇāmīti jānāmi. Aparimāṇavaṇṇoti tathārūpeneva sabbaññunāpi appameyyavaṇṇo – ‘‘pageva mādisenā’’ti dasseti. Vuttampi cettaṃ –

“They become guests to us”: they are newcomers, novices, guests to us—this is the meaning. “I master”: I know. “Of boundless praise”: he shows, “[His praise] is immeasurable even by an omniscient one of such nature, how much more so by someone like me.” And this too has been said:
