5.349_6

Vihāradānaṃ saṅghassa, aggaṃ buddhena vaṇṇitaṃ;
Tasmā hi paṇḍito poso, sampassaṃ atthamattano;
Vihāre kāraye ramme, vāsayettha bahussute.

The gift of a monastery to the Saṅgha is praised by the Buddha as foremost;
Therefore indeed a wise person, seeing what is beneficial for oneself,
Should cause delightful monasteries to be built, and house the learned here.
