‘‘Sabbe tasanti daṇḍassa, sabbe bhāyanti maccuno;
Attānaṃ upamaṃ katvā, na haneyya na ghātaye’’ti.

129. All men tremble at the rod; all men fear death.
One should treat one's neighbor as oneself, and therefore neither strike nor kill.
