Carañce nādhigaccheyyāti imaṃ dhammadesanaṃ satthā sāvatthiyaṃ jetavane viharanto mahākassapattherassa saddhivihārikaṃ ārabbha kathesi. Desanā rājagahe samuṭṭhitā.

Should a man fail to find a companion. This religious instruction was given by the Teacher while he was in residence at Sāvatthi with reference to a pupil of Elder Kassapa the Great.
