Yathāpi rahadoti imaṃ dhammadesanaṃ satthā jetavane viharanto kāṇamātaraṃ ārabbha kathesi. Vatthu vinaye (pāci. 230) āgatameva.
*Even as a lake.* This religious instruction was given by the Teacher while he was in residence at Jetavana with reference to the Mother of Kāṇā. The story is found in the Vinaya.
