‘‘Yo sahassaṃ sahassena, saṅgāme mānuse jine;
Ekañca jeyyamattānaṃ, sa ve saṅgāmajuttamo’’ti.

103. Though one should conquer a thousand times a thousand men in battle,
Yet would he be the mightiest conqueror who should conquer one, himself.
