mā voca pharusaṃ kañci vuttā paṭivadeyyu taṃ, /
dukkhā hi sārambhakathā paṭidaṇḍā phuseyyu taṃ. //
Do not speak harshly to anybody; those who are spoken to will answer thee in the same way. Angry speech is painful, blows for blows will touch thee.
