Vissajjanā – magadhesu bhante pācīnato rājagahassa ambasaṇḍā nāma brāhmaṇagāmo, tassuttarato vediyake pabbate indasālaguhāyaṃ sakkaṃ devānamindaṃ ārabbha bhāsitaṃ, sakko bhante devānamindo bhagavantaṃ upasaṅkamitvā pañhaṃ pucchi, tasmiṃ bhante vatthusmiṃ bhāsitaṃ.
Answer: Venerable sir, it was spoken in Magadha, to the east of Rājagaha, at the brahmin village named Ambasaṇḍā, to the north of it on Mount Vediyaka in the Indasāla Cave, concerning Sakka, the ruler of gods. Sakka, the ruler of gods, venerable sir, approached the Blessed One and asked a question; on that subject matter it was spoken.
