کسی که روی قناعت ندید، هیچ ندید کسی که عزت عزلت نیافت، هیچ نیافت نفس طرب جوی را از تاب آفتاب حرمان و حسرت مانند شمع بسوخته تا از ظلال ظلیل طوبی ساییان پردازد و به مفرش خاره و خار تن در داده تا در بساتین خلد برین بر سریر پایدار

He who has not seen the face of contentment has seen nothing; / he who has not attained the honor of seclusion has attained nothing.
He had burned his pleasure-seeking self like a candle in the heat of the sun of deprivation and longing, so that he might attain to the sheltering shade
of the shadows of Ṭūbā, and resigned himself to a bed of granite and thorns so that upon the enduring throne of the gardens of the highest paradise
