At this stage Mir Shamsu-d-din 'Ali Sultan performed acceptable service, and on the day of the entertainment rope-dancers exhibited their skill. When he came to Mashhad the mother's side was a grandson of Sultan Husain Mirza. Though in the beginning he was among the subsidised officers, in the end he was named among the excluded (bafyirman mausilm gasht). The 4th was Haji Muhammad Koki, the brother of Koki who was one of the great officers of his Majesty Giti-sitani Firdaus-makani. Haji Muhammad was of singular courage and the Shah often said that kings stood in need of such a servant. On the day of the qabaqandazi he hit the qabaq and received a (jaldu) present from the Shah. 5th, Raushan Koka, foster-brother of his Majesty Jahanbani Jannat-ashiyani. On the journey the jewellery was entrusted to him. As he proved unfaithful in this trust it was necessary to put him in prison for some time. He was pardoned and released. 6th, Hasan Beg, brother of Mahram Koki. Though he was foster-brother of Kamran Mirza he was long in the service of his Majesty Jahanbani. He was of generous nature, affable, and a confidant. He was drowned at the Causa ferry.
