This prince, son of Sultan Sa'id Shamsu-d dunya wau-d din (Altamsh) was born after the death of his eldest brother, whose name and titles were conferred upon him by his father. His mother was sent to a palace in the town of Loni, where he was brought up and educated as a prince. Under the blessing of God he acquired every pleasing virtue.
