In this year, the royal mind evinced a desire to enter into a matrimonial alliance with the family of Ulugh Khan-i-A’zam, who, every year, in leading the forces, and efforts in the service of the sublime Court, continued to display praiseworthy proofs, to such degree that no monarch has ever had a servant who, having attained the dignity of Khan and Malik, possessed a greater soul or more august temperament than Ulugh Khan-i-A'zam, of honour greater, of counsel more prudent, in leading armies more intrepid, in overthrowing foes more victorious, more worthy of being dignified with the honour of a matrimonial alliance with His Majesty, the Sultan-ul-A’zam, Nasir-ud-Dunya wa ud-Din, Abu-l-Muzaffar-i-Mahmud Shah — whose dominion and sovereignty may God long continue ! — and, by virtue of that alliance, labours for the glory of the kingdom, and the destruction of enemies in adjacent parts were likely to be increased.
