tadvārtamarthaparatā śabdānāṃ lokavedayoḥ /
‘aviśiṣṭastu vākyārtha'; ityutsargavatī yataḥ //

That is nonsense: the aiming at meaning belongs to words in ordinary life and in the Veda, / because it is governed by the general rule, 'The sentence-meaning, however, is not qualified.' // 2.6
