The absence of all modifications of the nature of tamas in one who has returned to normal consciousness has been stated in the preceding two verses. But for one who is in absorption, there are no mental modifications at all; whence could there be any suspicion of tamas? Such is the meaning. / "Objects turn away from an embodied soul that does not feed on them, / with the exception of relish; even relish turns away from him upon seeing the supreme."
