etena punarjanmakāraṇatvamudāhṛtaṃ bhavati, tacca punaḥ prapañcitaṃ - ātmasambhāvitāḥ stabdhā dhanamānamadānvitāḥ |
yajante nāmayajñaiste dambhenāvidhipūrvakama ||
By this, its being the cause of rebirth is illustrated; and that is further elaborated: / "Self-conceited, obstinate, full of the intoxication of wealth and pride, / they perform sacrifices in name only out of vanity, disregardful of the rules.
