And non-intertwining exists in liberation; therefore here the word 'iva' has both meanings. By such recitation, one strikes away evil; and 'stain' [means] passion and so forth, because sin is stated separately.
'Sin is indicated by "stain", and likewise passion, hatred, and the like; / offense is also stain, and filth they know as stain' / —thus in the Śabdanirṇaya.
He who meditates thus strikes away evil beyond.
