siddharūpaḥ prayogo yaiḥ karmaṇāmanugamyate
te kalpā lakṣaṇārthāni sūtrāṇīti pracakṣate¹ ”
Those by which the established form of the ritual performance of rites is followed—
these they declare to be the Kalpas, sūtras whose purpose is definition.” (1)
