asya mantrasya liṅgena viniyoge brāhmaṇavākyamavivakṣitārthe syāt | vākyena viniyoga mantraliṅgaṃ na vivakṣyeta | ityubhayorvirodhādaprāmāṇyaṃ codanāyā iiti pūrveḥ pakṣaḥ |

If this mantra is employed through its indicatory mark, the Brāhmaṇa sentence would have an unintended meaning. If it is employed through the sentence, the mantra's indicatory mark would not be intended. Thus, because of the conflict of both, the injunction lacks validity—this is the prima facie view.
