pañcamādhikaraṇamāracayati -
yaṃvāṃdiśabdāḥ kiṃ dvyarthā no vā''ryamlecchasāmyataḥ |
dīrghaśūkapriyaṃgvādyā dvaye'pyarthā vikalpitāḥ ||
He sets forth the fifth topical section:
Do words such as ‘yava’ have two meanings or not, through the equality of the Ārya and the Mleccha?
Both meanings, such as long-bearded barley and panic seed, are optional alternatives.
