Its object of valid cognition—that of non-existence—is established. How? Among marked garments that are not to be taken, those to be taken are unmarked, because they are marked by the absence of marks—that is, marked by the non-existence of marks. When both are present, one who is instructed, 'Bring the unmarked garments,' cognizes by means of the non-existence of marks those garments on which there are no marks; and having cognized them, he brings them; and the cause of cognition is a means of valid cognition.
