vākchalam evopacāracchalaṃ tadaviśeṣāt ||
Metaphorical quibble is just verbal quibble, because there is no difference between them.
57.4
na vākchalād upacāracchalaṃ bhidyate tasyāpy arthāntarakalpanāyā aviśeṣāt/ ihāpi sthānyartho guṇaśabdaḥ pradhānaśabdaḥ sthānārtha iti kalpayitvā pratiṣidhyata iti//
Metaphorical quibble does not differ from verbal quibble, because there is no distinction even in its presumption of another meaning. Here too, having presumed that the secondary word meaning the occupant is a primary word meaning the place, it is denied.
