A variety (vikalpa) means a distinct form, or a variety means a manifold form. Among these, non-repetition, ignorance, incomprehension, distraction, admission of an opinion, and overlooking the censurable are points of defeat consisting in non-comprehension; the remainder, however, consists in misunderstanding.
