triguṇamaviveki viṣayaḥ sāmānyamacetanaṃ prasavadharmi /
vyaktaṃ tathā pradhānaṃ tadviparītastathā ca pumān //
Possessing the three fundamental qualities, non-discriminating, an object, common, non-conscious, productive
is the manifest, and so is primary matter; opposite to them is the spirit. //
