prakṛtermahāṃstato 'haṅkārastasmādgaṇaśca ṣoḍaśakaḥ /
tasmādapi ṣoḍaśakātpañcabhyaḥ pañca bhūtāni //
From primordial nature arises the great principle; from that, the ego-maker; from that, the group of sixteen;
and from five of that group of sixteen arise the five elements. //
