eṣāmaṣṭānāṃ buddhirūpāṇāmekena mokṣaḥ saptabhirbandhaḥ saṃsāra iti yadetannimittanaimittikaṃ ṣoḍaśamuktaṃ tatsaṃkṣepeṇa caturvidhamāha -
Among these eight forms of intellect, liberation is through one, and bondage, the cycle of rebirth, through seven; regarding this sixteenfold cause and effect that has been stated, he speaks of it concisely in four kinds:
