janmamaraṇakaraṇānāṃ pratiniyamād ayugapatpravṛtteś ca /
puruṣabahutvaṃ siddhaṃ traiguṇyaviparyayāc caiva //
From the distinct allocation of birth, death, and instruments, and from non-simultaneous activity,
the multiplicity of spirits is established, and also from the contrariety of the three constituents. //
