tasmāt tatsaṃyogād acetanaṃ cetanāvad iva liṅgam /
guṇakartṛtve 'pi tathā karteva bhavaty udāsīnaḥ //
Therefore, from that conjunction, the unconscious manifest sign becomes as if conscious; / likewise, although agency belongs to the constituents, the indifferent one becomes as if an agent. //
