sāṃsiddhikāś ca bhāvāḥ prākṛtikā vaikṛtāś ca dharmādyāḥ /
dṛṣṭāḥ karaṇāśrayiṇaḥ kāryāśrayiṇaś ca kalalādyāḥ //
Inherent, natural, and acquired conditions such as virtue and the rest
are seen to reside in the instrument, while those beginning with the uterine germ reside in the effect. //
