dēhaṁ rōgāiṇṇaṁ, jīyaṁ taḍivilasiyaṁ ṣiva aṇiccaṁ
navaraṁ kavaguṇarasō, jāva ya sasi-sūra-gahacakaṁ
The body is filled with disease, life is as transient as a flash of lightning; / only the aesthetic relish of poetic virtue endures as long as the moon, the sun, and the host of planets.
