tē nāma hōnti kaṇṇā, jē jiṇavarasāsaṇammi suipuṇṇā
annē vidūsagassa va, dārumayā cēva nimmaviyā

Those alone are truly ears which are filled with hearing the teaching of the supreme Jina; / others are merely fashioned of wood, like those of a jester.
