ēyaṁ tē parikahiyaṁ, magahāhiva! jaṁ purā samaṇuvattaṁ
nisuṇēhi ēgamaṇasō, bhaṇāmi jaṁ annasaṁbandhaṁ

“This has been related to you, O lord of Magadha, which took place in the past. / Listen with single-minded focus; I shall narrate another episode.”
