suṇiūṇa tassa vayaṇaṁ, rāyā cintēi aduvaṁ dēhaṁ
taḍivilasiyaṁ va najjaï, khaṇēṇa jīyaṁ pi nāsēi
Hearing his words, the king reflected: “The body is impermanent; / it is perceived like a flash of lightning; life perishes in a moment.
