jaṁ ēva naravaīṇaṁ, appahiyaṁ pucchiō samaṇasīhō
tō sāhiuṁ pavattō, parabhavapariyaṭṭaṇaṁ bahusō

When the lion of ascetics was thus asked by the king about his own welfare,
he proceeded to explain his repeated wandering in other lives.
