aha lakavaṇēṇa chinnaṁ, sīsaṁ lavāhivassa saṁbhyaṁ
chinnaṁ puṇō puṇō ciya, uppajjaï kuṇḍalābharaṇaṁ

Then Lakṣmaṇa completely severed the head of the lord of Laṅkā; / yet no sooner was it severed than it arose again, adorned with earrings.
