paḍapaḍaha-mēri-jhallari-kāhala-tilimā muigasaddēṇaṁ
jayajayasaddēṇa tahiṁ, na suṇijjaï kaṇṇavaḍiyaṁ pi
With the sounds of drums, kettledrums, bherīs, jhallarīs, kāhalas, and mṛdaṅgas, / and with shouts of 'Victory! Victory!', nothing else could be heard falling upon the ear.
