ahavā kiṁ maha imiṇā vicintaēṇēha tāva pucchāmi
kō kattha kaha va ēsō paḍiō ya samuddamajjhammi?

Or else, what is the use of my pondering this? First I will ask: / Who is he, where is he from, and how did he fall into the midst of the ocean?'
