tō bhaṇaï naravarindō jēṭṭhē puttammi suppaïṭṭhammi
vijjantē na hu juttaṁ juvarāyaṁ ṭhāviuṁ surahaṁ

Then the lord of men said: “While the eldest son, Supratiṣṭha, exists,
it is indeed not proper to appoint Surabha as crown prince.”
