gahaṇā ' 'sēvaṇarūvaṁ sikkhaṁ abbhasiya gurūsamīvammi
ahiyasuō paḍivajjiya ēgallavihārapaḍimaṁ sō

who, having studied the discipline of receiving and practicing [the doctrine] near the guru,
and learned in sacred knowledge, undertook the solitary ascetic posture;
